My name is Alexander, and I am a Knight of the Knights Templar.

I was born a peasant in the Byzantine Empire, but because of my fathers family's connection, I was apprenticed to the head siege engineer of the Byzantine Army, where I learned the art of the Greek Fire. While I greatly enjoyed learning the science of siege weaponry, a desire for actual combat coursed through my veins. When a cousin of my master, who was an engineer for a band of the Knights Templar, came to visit, the stories he told were enough to convince me that that was where I belonged. Griffin took me back to his leader, the Count, and I professed my desire to fight for the Lord, and so I have since that day, faithfully keeping my vows of Poverty, Humility, and Chastity, no matter what others have implied.

There does seem to be an awful lot of slanderous talk these days...
