Salve, Milites Christi.
As my lengthy title-whoring signature claims, my name is Zwei ap Owen, and I am among other things a Knight and the Archbishop of Gwynedd. We haven't bothered with the niceties of justifying how I get to be both, so just run with it. Anyway, I joined your forum because I was hoping to get a hold of Father William. I have plans to knight my squire at this upcoming Althyng, and I was wondering if he'd like to help me out. Part of my plan for the event is to have my squire go to 'confession' prior to his ceremony, for which he'll be assigned a penance that must be carried out (the nature of which I already have planned, but hey, I'm always open to ideas and discussion).
While this is something I could easily perform myself, I thought it'd be more fun to get some of you guys involved. In Gwynedd, we have a longstanding friendly(ish) rivalry between the Christian and Pagans in our unit, so naturally the God-fearing amongst us are big fans of what you all do. I remember many moons ago before I moved to Ohio when you guys were the blue Japanese-themed dudes whose name I could never remember (sorry!), and let's just say we're glad you had a change of heart.
Other aspects of the knighting which you're free to be as involved in as you like include a shortened mass (partly in Latin and partly in English, so as not to bore people) that we've dubbed the Gwyneddian Rite with a very (very!) brief sermon, as well as the actual ceremony itself (belting, horn, oaths, whatever).
Thanks, and good to formally meet you all (if via the interwebz).
