Welcome to Dagorhir and the Knights Templar Forums. We are primarily based in Maryland with a sizable Ohio contingent. Where are you based? We can point you to a more local group if you are too far out. The basics are pretty simply and a starter kit can be made for relatively cheap compared to most hobbies. Mostly takes PVC, camping pads, and contact cement to construct weapons and a little fabric to make the basic tunic.

I live in Damascus Maryland and the cheap start sounds nice, any links you can recommend for weapon making, or a time set up where people will be making them and teaching others?

That is super local, a few of our founders are from Damascus. Because you're so local, we can provide you with loaner equipment in the short term. I'll get a mod to get you more access tot he forums so you can see the guides and things here.

As far as activity goes, the winter tends to be a little slow, but come spring we will get back into gear. We post on the forums when stuff is going on.

Watch Kingdom of Heaven everyday

kingdom of heaven, watched that 10-15 times before i discovered ARN; Arn is so much better (alot of subtitles and long movie but worth the watch) . I want my name to be Al Ghouti because of that movie. Oh and Ironclad, also a good Knights Templar movie. I also feel a sparring partner and a sword would be more productive than watching a movie :)

Any chance there is a practice soon? I really want to meet everyone and see if i have what it takes to become a knight templar! Feel free to text/call me (2409949823). I'm currently waiting for the pool season to start so i can begin making money again (I'm a sexy pool boy just an FYI) But am making a good bit back on my taxes and want to put that money towards becoming a templar. Also, if i want to make a name change should i just make a new account or is there a way for an admin or me to change my account name to Al ghouti?

i'm full of energy and excitement! i've actually began running and lifting weights in anticipation of the season! well this season and ice hockey beer league season!

The running and lifting is great. It really helps. I know back when I was running 3+ miles a day I had so much more speed and endurance for this game... I should start doing that again.

I used to live in Damascus. I have been a little out of the loop for probably about a year because I was living in southern WV, but I just moved back to Frederick, MD. I will definitely try to start up a local practice if I can get enough interest.
