Hello, I hail from the DC area and stumbled on your little group when I expressed intrest in my friend's group. I am new to all this but very interested. I have, in college, done something very similar to this only we called it Melee. I am still browsing the site and everything but I am unsure of what i need to get started.

the only things you need to get officially started are to get garb and weapons. garb can be as simple as sweat pants, boots, and a really baggy shirt. weapons, they have tons of tutorials on how to make them on the main dagorhir website. (www.dagorhir.com) if you have any questions, feel free to post them :)

Welcome, all you really need to get started is a fun attitude. There are always enough swords and shields at practice for you to start out and if you ask the count ahead of time he should be able to secure loaner garb for your first event or two. Eveventually you will make your own gear and garb but don't let that slow down your start.

Well thank you all so much for the info. I cannot wait to try this out. I am not without combat experience (bit of military training, bit of martial arts, bit of just goofing off). This is interesting me very much... I do wish it started sooner rather than later
